- My name is Dylan Dupuis. I am currently a graduate student pursuing a PhD in Molecular Biology. However I am also a self taught stock trader. I rely heavily on technical analysis to make my decisions. This blog will be about my thoughts on trading and goings on in the market. I will use this to run a mock portfolio. Why call myself the Bull Dodger?
Its more of a symbolic title. The common perception is that buy and hold is the best strategy. I disagree. I am not trying to avoid the bullish trades. Rather I try to diversify my trading by being both long and short. It is not that buy and hold does not work (it does to some extent). The problem is that at some point you need to get out. I say why not stay in a trade till the movement is done then move on. Seems logical to me.
